Hello,

I’m Matt. I’m fortunate to have gained experience as a Gaffer/Spark over the past five years, working on a variety of film productions, including the TV series Passenger on ITVx, Bodies on Netflix, A Gentleman in Moscow on Paramount+, Nolly on ITV and Gangs of London on Sky. I take pride in my ability to craft lighting that enhances storytelling and I’ve collaborated with talented directors, cinematographers on projects ranging from commercials for Adidas, McDonald’s, Jaguar, Royal Mail, JD, McLaren, ARRI, Puma to a variety of features, shorts, and music videos.

Co-founding Pole Lighting, a Sheffield-based film lighting rental house, has been a rewarding journey. I’m glad to offer nationwide lighting crew and kit hire to fellow filmmakers. Additionally, I teach lighting techniques at Met Film School as guest lecturer, the Screen Yorkshires’ Screen Crafts & Digital Skills Bootcamp as lighting tutor, among others. It’s a joy to share what I’ve learned, and I’m always looking to grow alongside others in this vibrant industry.
